What we will not claim

August 3, 2026Mark Thompson2 min read

Tore does not have customers yet. That single fact decides what this website is allowed to say.

We can describe what we built. We can count the things it connects to. We can tell you which parts are running and which parts exist in the codebase but are not switched on. Those are facts about software sitting in front of us, and you could verify most of them by using it.

We cannot tell you Tore saved a team nine hours a week. We cannot tell you it lifted satisfaction, cut response times, or stopped an engineer from quitting. Those may all turn out to be true. Today they would be inventions.

Why this is a product decision, not a moral one

The people buying this are founders and engineers at small software companies. They have read a hundred landing pages with a percentage on them and no method underneath. They have learned to discount every one.

So a made-up number does not just risk being wrong. It costs you the reader, and it costs you the sentences on either side of it that happened to be true.

The rules we gave ourselves

Every claim on this site is one of three things.

Verifiable today. It is in the product and you can go and look. The shared inbox exists. Bug reports arrive with a session replay. Investigations read the repository you connect. These are stated plainly and without hedging.

Real but switched off. It is built and not enabled, or built and not wired to anything. Opening a pull request on your repository is the clearest example: the publishing code is written and tested, and nothing calls it yet. These are marked coming soon, on the page, next to the thing itself. Not hidden.

Not ours to say. Anything about your results. We left those out.

What that looks like in practice

Our connections page counts five. There are thirty-seven providers declared in the codebase, and a headline saying thirty-seven would be defensible in a meeting and dishonest on a page. Five are built. The other thirty-two are shown greyed out with the words coming soon, because you should know that before you sign up rather than after.

The testimonial section on the homepage is an empty frame. It will stay empty until a real customer says something real that we can attribute to them.

When this changes

It changes when we have customers, and it changes with their numbers rather than ours, with the method stated so you can judge it. Until then, an empty shelf is the honest thing to show.
