Where Plain is strong, and when to pick it instead.

Plain is built for B2B teams that support customers in shared channels and want to shape support with code. If that is you, it is a strong pick.

Every B2B channel in one place

Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, email, chat and a customer portal, with a help center and in-app forms.

AI agents beside your team

Sidekick helps your team with full customer context, and a Customer Agent triages and investigates from your knowledge base.

API-first, no-code or all-code

Most actions can be done through the API, and workflows can call your own services and route with AI.

Linked to Linear

Create or link a Linear issue from a thread. When it is completed, the thread moves to Close the Loop so you can follow up.

Pick Plain when

You support business customers in shared channels and want to build on an API, with code fixes left to your engineers.

  • Your customers reach you in shared Slack, Teams or Discord channels.
  • You want to shape support with code, through an API and workflows.
  • You want to bring your own AI agents next to your team.
  • Your engineers prefer to take bugs from Linear and fix them themselves.

Tore vs Plain, across the support to fix loop.

Both answer business customers with AI and keep humans close. The difference starts when the thread turns out to be a bug in your code.

Desks answer but don't fix.Coding agents fix but never talk.

Most teams keep support conversations in one tool and the code in another, joined by a person copying between them. The thread says retries fire twice; the code knows exactly which line did it.

Questions people askbefore switching.

Is Plain better for B2B support in Slack?

For teams whose customers live in shared Slack, Teams or Discord channels, and who want to build on an API, Plain is made for exactly that. Tore answers in Slack too. Where it differs is what happens when the thread turns out to be a bug.

Plain links threads to Linear. Is that not enough?

It keeps support and engineering in step, and prompts you to follow up when the issue closes. An engineer still has to reproduce the bug, find the cause and write the fix. Tore does those steps, and by default waits for your engineer to approve the change.

Does Tore change our code without asking?

By default it waits for your engineer's approval. Your engineer can request changes in plain words, and Tore revises the fix and re-runs the tests. You set how much it does on its own, per repository, in AI controls.

Which AI models does Tore use?

The right model for each job: a fast model for quick answers, deep reasoning for root causes, a coding model for fixes. You can let Tore choose or set it per task. During early access, you can also bring your own AI keys.

How does the price compare?

Plans, what is included and how the AI is billed are on the pricing page.
